Macallan 12 fine oak is a fantastic whisky that’s rich and full-bodied, with a satisfyingly smooth finish. The Macallan 12 year old was created using the same recipe as ‘The Macallan 1824’ but with an extra 6 years spent in sherry casks for that extra hit of flavour.

The Macallan 12 Year Old (aged in bourbon, sherry, and European oak casks) is a classic Speyside single malt scotch whisky. The predominant flavoring here is salt, which enhances but doesn’t overwhelm its rich orange-amber color. Orange peel and baking spices hit the nose first, followed by brown sugar and dried fruits. While it’s medium bodied, this has a surprisingly full mouthfeel given its moderate alcohol content. The finish is long and richly brooding with notes of cocoa powder.
A unique fusion of three different cask types, this is the first ever single malt to be finished in casks that have contained sherry from all three of the oldest and most prestigious bodegas in Jerez: La Ina Solera, La González Byass and Pedro Domecq. This exceptional whisky has been created by master blender, Bob Dalgarno, who has selected the casks for their individual characteristics, colour and fruity sweetness – all tied together with the classic Macallan delivery of elegant, rich and complex whisky.
