Macallan 1946 Select Reserve is a limited edition whisky, bottled by the independent bottler Hunter Laing. The distillery was formerly known as the Macallan-Glenlivet Distillery and is located in Craigellachie in Speyside Scotland. A 46 year old whisky bottled in 2000, distilled at The Macallan distillery and aged in a Sherry cask. The site of the existing distillery at Craigellachie was first used by the Macallan family in 1824. The distillery itself was built in 1824, with additions in 1910, 1919 and 1963. It became part of the Highland Distillers Group in 1987.
