The Macallan 21 Year Old Fine Oak 70cl 43% abv Speyside is a rich old gold.

It has a light, delicate aroma that combines notes of sweet spice, oak and vanilla with hints of smoke and fruitcake. The palate is well balanced between rich sweetness and dry nuttiness with a long lingering aftertaste.

This Macallan 21 year old whisky was distilled at the distillery in January 1990, before being bottled in December 2011. It is presented in a modern replica bottle of the original Glenlivet 21 year old that was released by Macallan in 1990. The bottle is from the same batch as our other Macallan replica. This whisky was released as part of their Fine Oaking Range which takes traditional Speyside single malt and finishes it in either European oak casks or American bourbon barrels. This particular expression has been finished for an extended period of time on first fill European oak sherry hogsheads giving it its rich depth of flavours with notes of vanilla and chocolate intertwined with dried fruits such as raisins and figs as well as underlying spice hints throughout its length. A real treat for those who like sweet tasting whiskies!
