The Macallan Double Cask 30 years old is a perfect example of scotch whiskey at its finest. Its refined, yet beautifully intense character comes from distillation using two different cask types and is then aged for 30 years in Sauternes casks – the only sherry casks ever used by the Macallan distillery. Macallan 30 Year Old Double Cask is the first expression of Scotch whisky to be specially bottled at its natural strength of 57.3% abv. The perfect blended malt whisky, this rich and luxurious bottling is drawn exclusively from hand-selected casks that have married in our iconic warehouse for a minimum of 20 years before being placed into first fill ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts.

Double cask is a unique and rare variant of Macallan. This one was aged in a combination of two different kinds of cask–first, it was aged in American oak casks and then transferred to European oak sherry butts for an additional 12 years before bottling. An absolutely delightful dram!
