Macallan edition 6 for sale is a vintage blended Scotch whisky that promises to be just as exceptional and legendary as the other six releases in the Macallan Edition series. The name ‘Edition Six’ is derived from 1926, when Macallan built its first distillery warehouse next to the famous Abbey Well. It was at this time that Macallan moved away from using sherry casks for ageing whisky and began using American oak barrels instead – hence why Edition Six has been matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks.

Macallan Edition 6 is the final expression in Macallan’s Decanter Collection. The series began in 2015 and has seen a wide range of expressions including mature, sherry cask, peated and finishing expressions. Edition 6 represents the closing of the celabra-tion of these releases. A closure that was much anticipated with great anticipation by whisky enthusiasts and collectors alike.

Macallan Edition 6 –  Like the previous releases, “Edition 6” is a rare and expensive whisky.  It’s made with whiskies aged in a combination of refill American oak, European oak and Sherry casks, and is bottled at 46% alcohol.  The release comes in a specially designed hand-blown crystal decanter designed by British designer Peter Blake. The bottle is virtually identical to the Coravin Edition 5 bottle, except for the tray tag which reads Edition 6 instead of Coravin 5 on this example.
