Macallan Edition No 2 was named after the first release from this series of limited releases. It is crafted using sherry-matured spirit, similar to Macallan Rare Cask, but unlike that release is only available in the world’s most exclusive travel retail outlets. And while Macallan Edition No. 2 has now been retired, there are no plans to remove it from worldwide store shelves.

Macallan Edition No 2 was made to honor the life and legacy of one of Scotch whisky’s most iconic distiller, who died in 1927. This limited-edition release combines the styles that make The Macallan so revered, including sherry casks from both The Macallan and Highlands distilleries.

The Macallan Edition No 2 is the first Scotch whisky in history to be finished in two rare and precious casks: Amontillado sherry casks from Jerez, Spain and tawny port pipes. Bottled at strength, at 43% ABV with no chill filtration or artificial colouring.

The Macallan Edition No. 2 celebrates the pioneering spirit of the endless pursuit of excellence that lies at the heart of The Macallan’s tradition, while also pointing the way forward into a bold new future. Like its namesake distillery, this expression represents an exceptional elevation in whisky making and delivering incredible detail with softness and warmth.

This unique whisky has been matured in three different casks, firstly in American bourbon oak casks for 12 years, then Spanish Palomino fino Sherry casks for a further 6 years and finally Spanish Oloroso fino Sherry casks for an additional 18 months. A statement of the very best from The Macallan, Edition No. 2 is no ordinary whisky.

Edition No. 2 of the Macallan is a unique and intriguing whisky, combining mature traditional Speyside spirit with first fill European oak casks; this release is a combination of new-make spirit and mostly first fill sherry casks which have been imported especially from Spain, Portugal, France and Italy.

This luxury edition is the first scotch whisky to ever feature aged oak staves, which give it a modern twist. The Macallan Edition No. 2 is made from a combination of special casks selected by The Macallan’s Master Distiller Bob Dalgarno – including European oak and American white oak cask matured at the distillery for between 12 – 15 years.

The Macallan Edition No 2. is inspired by the colours of spring, with a whisky that combines both light and dark.

The Macallan Edition No.2 cask strength whisky is matured in sherry casks for 18 years. The result is a highly fragrant and intense single malt.

The Macallan Edition No. 2 is a distinctive, richly colored and intensely aromatic whisky. Made using Scottish barley, it takes its name from the Edradour distillery in Perthshire, which was founded in 1824 and is the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland. In 1878 the Macallan estate purchased Edradour, continuing to produce malt whiskies until 1945 when they were switched to grain whisky production. The ‘Edition’ collection features four unique bottlings that celebrate the history of The Macallan brand.

The Macallan Edition No. 2 is a single malt Scotch whisky, created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this classic Speyside single malt. The limited edition whisky was distilled in 1966 and bottled in 2016. It has an Oloroso Sherry Finish and was matured in European oak sherry casks for 40 years.

Macallan Edition No 2 is a limited production whisky aged in first-fill Sherry butts, drawn from casks that have been crafted from Spanish oak seasoned with Pedro Ximenez wine. It personifies Macallan’s unique style of elegance and finesse. The palate is sweet and smooth with hints of chocolate, raisin and orange peel, leading to a long finish. Edition No 2 is bottled at cask strength of 57% abv.

The second edition is a return to the more complex style of the original’s distillation. Matured in oak casks from the Macallan’s ‘classic’ series, this whisky has an intense and rich character with layers of vanilla, milk chocolate, cocoa and wild honey.

Made from fifteen different casks and aged in sherry oak casks, this luscious whisky has a complex and concentrated palate with polished honey sweetness on the nose.

The Macallan Edition No. 2 is a personal expression of Willie, cool and elegant, with a rounded personality. Made from 1 Bourbon cask and married with 1 Sherry cask, it gives the whisky its rich amber colour, mellow flavour and delicate aromas.

The Macallan Edition No. 2 is a whisky that was bottled in the latter part of the 20th century by The Macallan distillery. Since it wasn’t aged, there weren’t any wood compounds that could contribute to its flavor profile, therefore…

The Macallan Edition No. 2 was created to celebrate The Macallan’s 200th anniversary and is a blend of 21 casks of the finest Sherry Oak distilled in 2014, plus an additional 4 casks from the final fill batch of Macallan ‘M’ whisky. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non chill filtered and non coloured as a tribute to discovering great character through ageing and how whisky also ages in our own bodies as we drink it
