Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 2019

Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 2019 is the result of maturing single malt whisky in a single grain cask. The whisky was matured for 12 years in a refill American Oak hogshead and bottled at 46%.

Macallan’s Exceptional Single Cask is a limited edition single cask expressions of their core range, carefully selected from exceptional casks. The whisky is aged in oak ex-bodega European oak sherry butts and bottled at cask strength to showcase the characteristics of the wood and age of the spirit.

In a first for us, we’re releasing an Exceptional Single Cask edition of Macallan Scotch whisky. It’s a rare treat to find such a beautifully crafted bottle from Scotland, truly exceptional in its quality and character.

Distilled in January 2001 and aged for 20 years before being bottled in July 2021. This exceptional single cask expression was selected by the Macallan Artisan Series Committee, who carefully select the very finest casks from the distillery’s extensive archives. This collectible bottle is hand-finished with a splendid frosted label, finished with an antique-look wax seal.

The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 2019 is a unique, rare and limited edition release of single malt whisky aged for 25 years. It is made from a single first-fill Sherry butt filled 21 years ago, and bottled at natural cask strength. Limited to just 300 bottles, each bottle is individually numbered and presented in an elegant hand-crafted wooden box.

This exceptional cask was distilled in 1990 and matured in sherry oak for 25 years. It has only been lightly touched, making it a fantastic example of Macallan’s core character.

Macallan Distillers was established by William Sanderson in 1824. The family owned business has been operated by the fifth generation of the Sanderson family since July 2011, who were selected to represent the 19th generation of ownership within the Macallan family. Each year, a selection of exceptional casks are selected by our Master Distiller and bottled as an Exceptional Single Cask series, recognising their unique characteristics and producing a true expression of The Macallan.
