Moyet Cognac 1815
A full-bodied cognac, the Moyet 1815 Cognac Napoleon Grande Champagne is made from two grapes sources: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. It has a rich color that matches its rich tasting palate of honey, vanilla, and butterscotch.
Moyet 1815 is a Grande Champagne Cognac that is mature but not overpowering. With a lot of complexity and character, it’s one of the most intriguing characteristics of a Cognac. Each bottle has its own unique story due to the aging and blending process—similar to a fine wine. Versatile enough to be used in cooking, or as a good way to start off those evenings out with friends.
In 1815, Moyet launched its first Cognac. Owner Louis Moyet had become fascinated with the Grande Champagne region of France in his younger years, and as he grew older, he found himself drawn to the world of vintners, who were equally passionate about their craft. With a talent for marketing, Louis attracted notable names such as Jules Verne, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Victor Hugo to visit his vineyards. When Napoleon came calling during his exile on Elba Island in 1814 seeking fine wine for his table, Louis was the man he trusted with this task. The rest is history: Louis took an order of one hundred casks each year until 1860, when he passed away shortly after leaving us with his 1844 vintage—the last barrel made by him personally and aged on site at Chateau Moulin Pezou—which we have bottled as our flagship blend until this day.”
With its aroma of flowers, fruits and spices and hints of coffee, vanilla and cinnamon, you will find this cognac truly unique and an excellent choice for aperitifs and digestifs.
