Suntory Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel is a rich whisky with sweet oak, spice, and vanilla flavors from the extended 18-month aging. This limited edition of this expression was created using liquid from one single cask filled in October 2011, rather than from a batch of casks filled at one time.
The Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel is a luxurious whisky, aged in new oak barrels. The whisky is mellowed by the two-year process of aging in American White Oak barrels that have previously held Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey as well as Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Yamazaki Bourbon Barrel 2011 is one of our most treasured products. It’s a rare opportunity to try a barrel-aged whisky from Japan’s oldest distillery. This expression is a blend of “two distilleries” from their Yamazaki distillery (10 year old and 12 year old) that was put into American Oak casks for five years, before it was finished in wooden barrels used for aging bourbon for an additional two years.
The Yamazaki 12 year old single malt whisky is aged in wooden casks which have housed wine, sherry and bourbon. The unique Yamazaki distillery is the only one to be built on a natural elevation off the ground, allowing cool air to pass through it naturally and creating a soft gentle place for the casks to rest.
