A rich and spicy, full-bodied whisky with fragrant notes of vanilla, nuts, black pepper and fruit jam
2016 yamazaki sherry cask is a great dram, with the effects of aging in a sherry cask are very evident. The distillate is fresh, but with a fully developed palate experience that doesn’t overwhelm the complexity of this whisky which makes you want to try more than one dram.
A unique expression of two great spirits, this Yamazaki whisky was matured in ex-Sherry casks for over 23 years.

The Yamazaki Sherry Cask has been a great success over the years, receiving high praise from connoisseurs who appreciate its complex flavours and aromas. This time, we have wondered precisely how to reinvigorate this unusual whisky in order to keep its freshness, while at the same time maintaining its delicate flavours.
Tasting notes: This dram has a beautiful, amber-like glow and brings rich flavours of dried fruit and sherry to the table. It is full-flavoured and well rounded, with sweet vanilla and chocolate undertones.
2016 yamazaki sherry cask
2016 yamazaki sherry cask is a limited edition collection of exquisite wines with a distinctive flavor, made in the Japanese city of Yamazaki. It is created by aging Japanese whisky in American oak barrels that previously held sherry, making it both exquisitely smooth and complex.
A new era of whisky has begun. The Yamazaki Sherry Cask is available in Asia Pacific, Europe and Middle East.
The Yamazaki Distillery was established by Shinjiro Torii in 1923, making it the oldest of the major Japanese whisky distilleries. It’s believed to be the first distillery to produce straight whisky using traditional Scottish methods, which has led to its current international reputation as a producer of Japan’s finest whisky. In 2016, the Yamazaki Distillery launched its first ever Sherry Cask Collection, featuring three expressions matured in a mix of American oak and sherry casks.
The Yamazaki Sherry Cask is a blend of at least 12-year old Yamazaki single malt whisky, carefully selected from the warehouses of the distillery. Each bottle is hand numbered and sealed with wax, which creates a deep amber color. The richness and depth of this single malt are evident from its initial taste: Tropical fruits and wildflowers shine in a soft, yet long finish.
This expression is a limited edition created from one of the very first casks filled with Yamazaki Sherry Cask. Made of an ex-sherry cask, this expression is a window into what happens when yamazaki meets sherry.
Aged in ex-sherry casks and infused with flavors of complex spice and fruits, Yamazaki Sherry Cask was distilled in 2016. The initial notes bring forth a smooth, velvety sensation with the tanginess of lemon peel and powdered sugar. The palate is then given an added layer of complexity thanks to woody notes that linger on mid-palate
“Our Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2016 is a unique Japanese malt whisky made exclusively from Japanese malted barley. It has been aged in specially selected ex-sherry casks, imparting it with rich, characterful flavors of dried fruit and butterscotch. A gentle marrying of peat smoke and fruity notes makes this a truly decadent whisky.`”
Our award-winning Yamazaki Sherry Cask is back in 2016. The tender, vanilla sweetness of this one has been mastered after over 100 bottles were selected by our whisky master to create the perfect blend, including hints of dried fruit and raisin, before being bottled at 50% ABV with no chill filtration or added colouring.
